The Greek key multiplied into a full matrix: concentric rings of interlocking meander radiating from a small open center out to the rim, one band nested inside the next, in terracotta, black, or terracotta on a black ground.

Where a single key borders the edge, this design fills the whole face with the fret, ring upon ring, for a plate that reads bold and graphic across the table. The motif is drawn from the classical repertoire that has banded Greek pottery and architecture since antiquity.
