The Chinese fretwork lattice printed edge to edge — interlocking squares and diamonds in an unbroken trellis, no border, no margin, the pattern running clean off all four sides. Worked in chartreuse on saturated violet. Fretwork is the geometry behind the garden: the lattice that framed the pavilion and the window, drawn here at the scale of the table.
