Description

The great painted ceilings and floor tiles of Revolutionary Paris worked in this exact grammar: bold diagonal chevrons in bleu, blanc, and rouge meeting at perfect angles, the tricolor cockade pressed flat into a circular device at the intersection. It was a pattern language that declared its allegiance without text — geometry as politics, the diagonal as a form of argument. The La Révolution chevron plate brings that visual logic to the table, the composition as resolved and as confident as the originals that inspired it.

This plate belongs to the La Révolution collection — a series of paper tableware designs drawn from the graphic vocabulary of the French Revolutionary period. The chevron plate is the collection’s most graphic statement: a bold composition that reads clearly from across a table while rewarding close inspection for the precision of the cockade device at its center. The quatrefoil detail at the center field is drawn from the decorative metalwork of the period — the grilles and railings and pressed-metal ornaments that the Revolutionary workshops produced in the tricolor palette.

Available in 9″ dinner and 7″ salad or dessert sizes. Pairs with the cockade napkins and Liberté-Égalité paper runner for a fully coordinated Revolutionary table.

A Note from Jeff

The tricolor chevron is the boldest design in the La Révolution collection, and it requires a table with the confidence to carry it. A white cloth, linen napkins, simple glasses — the plate does the work so the rest of the setting doesn’t have to. I find it best used for the kind of occasion where the purpose of the gathering is already clear and the table simply needs to acknowledge it.

For the Fourteenth of July, there is no more appropriate plate.
