Parfum du Voyage Fontainebleau Scented Candle
The Candle Itself
A fragrance is only as honest as the wax that carries it. Ours is a coconut–apricot blend — a vegan composition of coconut, apricot, and soy waxes, made in the USA from renewable sources and fully biodegradable. We chose it for the way it behaves: a low, even melt that releases fragrance steadily rather than all at once, the way a room should fill — gradually, and then completely.
The fragrance oils are blended and tested in the United States to the strictest clean standard we could find: free of phthalates and parabens, and formulated without a single ingredient on California's Proposition 65 list. No dyes in the wax. Nothing in the vessel but what belongs there.
Each candle is hand-poured in small batches in the USA into frosted glass, finished with a natural wood lid. The wick is wood, not cotton — it burns with a soft crackle that does for a quiet evening what a fireplace does for a winter one. Trim it to 1/8" before each burn, give the first burn two to three hours to reach the edge of the glass, and the candle will return the favor for roughly sixty hours.
One note, because we work with natural waxes and no industrial stabilizers: you may occasionally see a soft, translucent veil where the wax meets the glass. It is the signature of a clean wax cooling at its own pace — a fingerprint, not a flaw. And when the last hour has burned, keep the vessel. Warm water and soap will clear it, and it deserves a second life on your desk or shelf.

There is a particular hour in the Forest of Fontainebleau, just before the light fails in October, when the last sun comes horizontal through the ancient oaks and turns everything amber and smoke, when it becomes entirely possible to understand why Rousseau and Corot and Millet came here and never quite recovered. The forest does something to you. It asks nothing. It simply breathes.
FONTAINEBLEAU opens with an unexpected brightness: champagne-crisp bergamot, effervescent and clean as morning air above the canopy, before descending into the forest itself. Balsam and cedar rise from the undergrowth, rich and resinous, the smell of wood that has stood through two centuries of French history.
The base is the forest floor at dusk, warm with pine resin and juniper and the deep, velvety earth note of patchouli and ancient moss. This is the luxury of stillness: the scent of a walk that ends not in tiredness, but in a profound and wordless peace.
