Description

A set of four ghost plates in the 9″ size, one of each portrait: La Comtesse, Le Docteur, Le Colonel, and La Douairière. The larger assortment anchors a Halloween table with four decayed daguerreotypes. Four plates, one of each ghost.

The Design

Four different 19th-century daguerreotype portraits, one to a plate, each foxed and bloomed and set on an aged ivory ground with a fine dark rim: the young comtesse, the bespectacled doctor, the corroded old colonel, and the dowager in her lace bonnet. As a group they turn a dinner table into a haunted family gallery.

The Object

Four 9″ dinner plates, one of each design, printed full-color on durable, food-safe paper. The set anchors a Halloween table on its own, pairs with the 7″ set for a layered place setting, or mixes with the solid Les Classiques plates for a calmer palette.
