Scarlet Snake Paper Party Plate
Description
A scarlet coral snake, banded in red and cream, coils across a cream plate with a fine dark rim. The image is lifted from a 19th-century natural-history engraving, so it reads as collector's-cabinet curiosity rather than costume-shop kitsch. Available in 9″ dinner and 7″ salad or dessert sizes.
The Design
The illustration comes from the golden age of natural-history publishing, when serpents were drawn with the same care given to portraits. This one is all rhythm: a scarlet body ringed in cream and black, looped into an S that fills the well of the plate. Set against an aged ivory ground with a fine dark rim, it reads as a specimen mounted for study.
The Object
Printed in full color on durable, food-safe paper stock, the plate comes in a 9″ dinner size and a 7″ salad or dessert size, sold in packs of eight. Mix it with the Black, Grey Kingsnake, and Red-Banded snakes for a full cabinet of specimens, or set it against the solid Les Classiques Black for contrast.
